Dr. Samuel Young, with over 30 years as OBGYN and surgeon at Kaiser Permanente, practices patient centered, holistic patient care with special interests in anti-aging. He has specialty experience in treating chronic pain, incontinence and pelvic pain without medications.
While applying evidence based conventional medicine, Dr. Young incorporates complementary medicine including nutritional, dietary supplements, acupuncture, energy medicine, FSM Frequency Specific Microcurrent, life-style modifications as he journeys alongside with his patients well living and finding the best approaches to manage health and prevent diseases.
Dr. Young completed his BA degree from U.C. Santa Barbara and Medical Degree from Tulane University. Having completed his residency at Kaiser Permanente- Oakland, he continued another 30 years at Kaiser, Hayward/San Leandro/Union City where he was senior consultant for laparoscopic gyn surgeries and high risk deliveries and took care of over 2800 patients in his practice. At Kaiser, he was a member of CAM (Complementary and Alternative medicine) group in Greater Southern Alameda Area and co-chair for their national OBGYN surgical core group.
A compassionate and dedicated OBGYN, Dr Young was awarded multiples Kaiser awards including the "Physician of the Year"and "Physician Hero" awards. Consistent "Excellent" rating in annual patients satisfaction surveys attest to his approachable nature who provides medicine beyond his specialty.
Dr. Young obtained his Helms UCLA Certification for Physician Medical Acupuncture in 2001. Dr. Young has completed the required courses for the certification by IFM Institute of Functional Medicine.
He is fluent in Cantonese/Mandarin. He holds a medical license for California and is Board-certified in OBGYN.
Dr. Young plays an active role in his community, volunteering for the Support Circle for over 25 years.
Personal
Dr. Young enjoys biking and traveling with his wife and two boys. He has a passion for handyman jobs, applying that interest to honey-do list for his 90 yr old mom. He has a real passion in reading up and attending conferences, staying current the latest knowledge in integrative medicine.
